Until 27th July 2024, we have extra discounts available for current customers who are buying Meraki APs or the new Meraki Catalyst APs for existing Meraki customers. The discounts apply to the hardware only, not the licenses.

This is your opportunity to upgrade your APs to Wi-Fi6.

Wi-Fi 6 can transfer data at up to 10Gbps, compared with max speeds of around 3.5Gbps for 802.11ac (Wi-Fi5).

There’s no need to replace every Wi-Fi 5 device and network component simultaneously. Wi-Fi6 routers support Wi-Fi5 devices just fine. The older devices will just run at their rated 802.11ac speeds. Your network probably already has some Wi-Fi6 client devices.

FAQs

What are these CW part numbers? They don’t look like Meraki models.

Cisco has started Merakising (we invented that word) some of the core Cisco kit. They can be added to the Meraki Dashboard and fully managed just like classic Meraki kit. In this case these CW916 models have ‘-MR’ on the end of the part number meaning they are the Meraki version of the Cisco AP. You still need to provide MR licenses for them (LIC-ENT or LIC-MR-ADV).
